Workouts to Lose Weight
It’s likely you think you know, in theory, how to lose weight. It’s as simple as just sticking to cardio and doing a lot of it, right? Actually, it’s not that easy. It’s been found that high-intensity interval training can be better than just pushing around the pedals of a stationary bike for an hour. This is the kind of knowledge you can learn from the professional trainers at Doctor for Life.
Physical fitness is a state of health and wellbeing and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of daily activities, occupations and sports. Exercise is a key to enhancing one’s fitness. Choose from cardio, calisthenics, weights, balance, flexibility, dance and many more modes.
A doctor-supervised fitness assessment is the first step you’ll take into our fitness program. Before we can build a customized plan of workouts for you, we have to know what your body can handle and determine the best way to approach fitness for you.
We begin by gauging your current fitness to determine the presence of risk factors and any symptoms that may be adversely affected by exercise and to help you start working toward your health goals quickly and safely. We also do Fit Checks, exclusive of the Doctor
We think personal training should be something that’s free of distractions and onlookers. The individualized approach our personal training brings to the table can work with anyone, even people with physical disabilities or mobility issues, because our trainers have the versatility to work with all our clients and help them achieve their fitness goals during a workout with us.
Another aspect included in personal training is that it can show you the safe way to do certain moves and exercises. This means that once you’ve moved on from a beginner level, you can do the same exercises on your own with the confidence that you’re getting the most out of them.
Doctor for Life offers exclusivity and privacy with Personal Training Studio. Our Certified Personal Trainers customize exercise routines to fit your ability level and goals. Collective fitness makes everyone accountable for the accomplishments of the group, which adds an additional level of motivation for everyone as part of a group taking responsibility for their fitness. There’s something unique about sharing a collective goal, and blasting through that goal with a group of other people.
We offer classes as well as individual instruction in such areas as PLYOGA (plyometric exercise mixed with the balance of yoga) as well as strength training, calisthenics, flexibility, breathing, interval training, circuit workouts and more.
Working out with others is incredibly motivating and rewarding. Doctor for Life Group Exercise Class Series are designed with special themes and structure. Progressions and timelines make commitments achievable and affordable. Series start at $30.
Whether you’re working out with Doctor for Life on your own or as part of a group, we emphasize functional fitness — in other words, the physical endurance and strength that it takes to complete tasks applicable to daily life. We give you the tools to lose weight while making you better prepared to handle your everyday responsibilities. What could be better than that?
